This is an introduction or reflection on the origins and beginnings of the MG UC, based on the first public use of a document that the most relevant works on trade unionism have ignored to date. Exploratory questions are posed considering the content of the Manifesto-Programme of the Movimiento Gremial Universitario of 1963 due, firstly, to the prematureness of the text, leaving in check the understandings agreed upon so far, first, of the date of foundation of the student grouping, as well as the historical and doctrinal role played by Jaime Guzmán Errázuriz in the very germ of the organism. A textual transcription of the pamphlet found in the National Library is also attached for future discussion and study of both the university body and the current of thought.
